Some customers love our Danes so much they get their own FB page!

NOTE:  I am bashed by show/breed standard people for as they put it, "Never allowing potential customers to come to my home; instead I insist they meet me somewhere and this should be a red flag to buyers. Well, once again, they are sadly mistaken as you'll see towards the bottom of this page.  Furthermore....

What they don't say is I do not allow everyone to come to my home as a precaution to prevent transmitted diseases such as PARVO come into my home.  What they don't say is my web site is full of pictures and videos so that potential customers can see my home and how my Danes and their puppies are raised.  What they don't say is my vets tell me they wish more breeders were as careful as I am about letting strangers into their homes; if they were vets would not be treating so many parvo cases every year!

It doesn't take a genius to figure out with the large litters Danes tend to have, in one year alone someone could have up to 200 or 300 strangers in their home because most of the time potential customers bring their children and even friends of their children to see the puppies. Even if only adults want to see the puppies, many bring a couple of relatives with them or friends.  This is all fine with me, however, in this day and age I will not have that many strangers in and out of my home!

Breeders that keep their dogs in huge kennels might be able to splash bleach or a Parvocidal Disinfectant on their walls and floors weekly, but I can't do that in my home.

What they don't say is my actual customers are grateful I am this cautious.  Amen for the understanding puppy owners..... they are the best, and truly have the welfare of the puppy/dogs at heart - and are sensible enough to understand common sense reasoning.  For those that don't understand, they can buy their puppy elsewhere and I'll still sleep like a baby for it.

What they don't say is once or twice a year, usually with the last puppy of a litter to be picked up, I do allow someone to come to my home and I take extreme precautions before they ever get out of their car to sterilize their shoes and hands.  What they don't say is these customers have written reviews stating they have seen my home and the area the dogs have to potty and play when they go outside via the doggy doors and it's nice and sanitary.

What they don't say is how they will email or call me under the pretense of buying just to twist my replies around to suit their need to bash someone, anyone, just to feel important.  But that's okay, because I have my own site for the entire world to see... I'm not a coward, I don't hide like they do.  I guess they do this because they know what they are saying is false.

They fault me for shipping without seeing the new potential home.  What they don't say is I have a 4 page application of which I get references, including their vet the puppy would be going to and verify references.

The show/breed standard person will always gossip about me and yes, I may have one or two unhappy customers but it's not because I did something wrong; it's because they did after getting their Dane and it's always easier to blame the breeder than to admit they messed up.  This particular forum reminds me of high school and the little "clicks" that went on.  I say these people need to grow up and get a life of their own and learn to accept change.  I can guarantee you sooner or later the chocolate Dane will be a breed standard color.  It's just a matter of time and if someone with enough money takes interest, it'll be sooner than later.

So many times people like something and really want and believe in it but they don't have the guts to stand on their own two feet to fight for what they believe in.  Then there are those that have it but then second guess themselves because of gossip they here or they just want to be "with the majority," even if the majority don't truly know what the hell they are talking about.

To sum it up, it's like buying grapes, you are always going to have a few sour ones in the bunch.  And if the show/breed standard people say they never have an unhappy customer, they are simply not telling the truth.  I must say I do wonder, do they go after all the standard breeders who don't health test their breeding stock and are producing poor quality puppies???   Or, do they focus on me simply because I'm the easier target as they really don't want to put all that much effort to clean up their own back yard?

Bottom line is if a potential customer has a problem with my policies, my contract, my puppies.... then they can buy their puppy elsewhere.  If a potential customer chooses to believe the garbage on the forums vs testimonials from actual customers and not weigh in the whole truth, then quite honestly I prefer they buy their puppy elsewhere as I prefer my puppies go to intelligent people who can properly take care of them.  If a customer has a problem with me, then that person should address me with it rather than bash me on a forum with inaccuracies all the while emailing me as if everything is okay and inquiring about getting another puppy from me!  I just can't stand a hypocrite.

If it's a  show/breed standard breeder that has a problem with my policies, my contract, my puppies or me well then they can just get over it and get a life because I will continue to selectively breed to improve the chocolate puppies my Danes produce until the day I die, GOD willing.

At the beginning of 2011 and mid year I was having some serious health issues of my own and had to down size my Danes.  It amazes me that even under a personal situation some DOL people have no heart and refer to me as a BYB/Puppy Mill for selling several of my own young and adult Danes that I had intended on keeping.  They overlooked the fact I'd rather part with my babies than keep more than I could physically care for during the several months of recovery from surgery and follow-up treatments for my health issues.  Again I say, "What heartless soles they are!"   They could at least give me credit for not hoarding them like a breeder in MO did with her own and other people's Danes that were in her care.  The condition of those dogs was inexcusable!!

Furthermore, these people show their ignorance by calling me a BYB because of the number of puppies I placed in 2011.  Duhh, if they were the experts they claim to be they'd know that one female Dane is capable of producing on an average of 12 to 16 puppies?  Geeze, at least I can do the math.   I breed for small litters so the birthing process and raising of a litter is easier on my females.  Therefore,  with my breeding four females in 2011 I had a reasonable number of puppies to place.

Bottom line, if I was truly as bad of a breeder as the DOL people try to paint me as, I seriously doubt so many of my customers would be staying in touch with me sending updates as often as they do or take the time to send pictures so I can see how GREAT my puppies are developing as shown on my Then & Now page.

When I get emails from customers like the two below, it puts all the b.s. the DOL
people say into perspective and I simply flush the toilet.

On 8-18-11  I received the following from a customer that adopted a puppy from me 5-2-09:

I've shown some of your Youtube videos to my sister Kathryn (who also has a Great Dane named Precious). I've tried to explain to her how beautiful your property is and how fun it is to see the cattle and the danes roaming around together. Additonally, I wanted her to see some of the other colorful danes (especially the chocolates) you have and how well they are taken care of. Sooo, with this in mind, I got out my laptop, and my sister and I plopped down on the couch while I pulled up one of your Youtube videos...the first Youtube video I happen to open has you filming the dogs and talking about them - your voice is very clear and strong thru the audio/video.

While we were comfy on the couch, Nyla had also made herself comfy on our other couch. She in no way could see the laptop screen or what we were watching on it.  However, as soon as I started the video and she heard your voice, she jumped off the couch, came over to us and started to try and look at the screen with us. She quite literally heard your voice and within seconds was up looking around as if to say;     " Hey, I know that voice...is that  Grandma Kay I hear?"

Kathyrn and I were dumbfounded. At first we thought she might be reacting to all the birds chirping in the background of the video, but that was quickly ruled out due to the tons of birds she hears and see's around our house.  There is NO other explanation for Nyla to react like that other than she heard your voice and recognized it and came over (to the laptop) to say try and say hello . She's heard tons of things playing from off my laptop and never once showed a bit of interest as to what we were listening to or watching. It was amazing and very moving for me to watch.

Once we realized Nyla's reaction to the video we immediately restarted the video and Kathryn filmed Nyla on her iPhone. The attached video is showing how she reacted to hearing your voice. I wish we had captured Nyla's reaction from start to finish... Nevertheless, I think what we captured is priceless. It's a testament to just how much you love and care for each of your danes that after living with us for 2 years and 4 months, Nyla still remembers her Grandma...   Enjoy!

Love, Julian
