Chocolate Danes have been around since at least the 1600's.
Solid chocolate color, nose, pads, toenails and ear pigmentation is brown, not black and eyes are usually amber, not brown. They are not born black & change colors, they are born chocolate!

Many breeders will accidentally misrepresent a puppy by labeling it as a chocolate but don't be fooled!  Click here.

The coat is described as "lilac."  The Drapp-colored Dane is similar to the Weimaraner "mouse" or Doberman "fawn," a coat color perhaps more properly referred to as dilute chocolate or blue-liver. Additional examples of this color is a chinchilla dilute blue, a color that has also been referred to typically as Isabella.
